Janet Brandt-Sarif

Janet graduated from the University of Cape Town, South Africa in 1991. She worked in private practice in Cape Town and was the physiotherapist for the local soccer and rugby teams. Janet also worked in the fitness industry both teaching classes and consulting with trainers and their clients. Since establishing JBS Physiotherapy Lane Cove in 1998 Janet has continued to attend regular education courses.

Janet is a highly experienced physiotherapist who has a passion for identifying and treating the true source of her clients’ injuries. Janet has a keen interest in treating back and neck pain. She uses a variety of techniques including dry needling, Integrated Systems model, the Thoracic ring approach and is an accredited practitioner of the Sarah Key method. As an active mother of three, who loves exercise and movement, Janet is focused on ensuring all her clients can continue to move and function in the best possible way. Janet strives to empower her patients to achieve their goals whether that is professional sport participation, recreational sport or just simply lifting groceries and grandchildren.

Janet uses a variety of hands-on manual therapy techniques as well as rehabilitation-based exercise in the treatment of musculoskeletal injuries and the prevention of secondary injuries. Janet also teaches strength and conditioning classes which focus on posture and stability. Janet believes in an integrated approach to pain and dysfunction. She also practices Women’s Health physiotherapy and is interested in abdominal wall and pelvic floor health during pregnancy and post-partum. Janet firmly believes in safe return to exercise post-partum and strives to support her clients in doing so. Additionally, Janet addresses issues related to bladder control and pelvic organ prolapse.

As principal of JBS Physiotherapy Lane cove, Janet is focused on providing a treatment environment which yields best possible outcomes and places an emphasis on treating the patient as a whole. She is extremely proud of the ethics and expertise of all her team members
